Special Response Teams

SPECIALIZED. TRAINED. READY.

White Oak EMS Special Response Teams

White Oak EMS maintains five response teams that extend our capabilities far beyond traditional ambulance service. Each team is staffed by trained members ready to deploy when the call comes in.

Search and Rescue

White Oak EMS Search & Rescue (WOSAR) was created to provide aid for those missing or lost. Created in 2005, WOSAR has responded to hundreds of SAR calls and saved countless lives.

Incident Rehab emblem

Incident Rehab

The Incident Rehab Team (IRT) was designed to meet the requirements of PA Department of Health protocols to provide “rehab” at major incident scenes. Our rehab capabilities can be provided via a single ambulance or full rehab response, which includes the rehab trailer towed by one of our specialty vehicles.

Disaster Response emblem

Disaster Response

The Disaster Response Team (DRT) was created when WOEMS was awarded one of the FEMA/AMR National Disaster Response contracts. WOEMS can respond a single unit anywhere from the Mississippi River to the East Coast.

TACTICAL EMS / RESCUE TASK FORCE emblem

TACTICAL EMS / RESCUE TASK FORCE

The Rescue Task Force (RTF) was created in 2016 to satisfy the need to move EMS operations from the “cold zone” to the “warm zone” in response to any terrorist or active shooter incidents. Our Tactical EMS team followed to bring medical support to law enforcement operations. To be a member of WOTAC, candidates must pass an intensive 8-week training program and meet physical fitness requirements.

Air Support Unit

The Air Support Unit (ASU) provides advanced aerial reconnaissance, thermal imaging, and situational awareness to support ground crews during critical incidents. Utilizing state-of-the-art drone technology, our certified remote pilots deliver real-time data to incident commanders, enhancing safety and coordination for search and rescue operations, disaster assessments, and large-scale emergencies.
